Home Based Business – How And What Kind?

Written by Author on June 16th, 2009

The hardest part of starting a business is Finding A Product, How To Present It, Advertising It Correctly and Making A Profit. Without a product there are no sales. Without sales there is no profit. Without profit there is no advertising fund. And without adverting there are no sales. What a complicated and confusing and vicious circle. Well lets see if I can make it a lot easier then it sounds. It doesn’t have to be a vicious circle. Sometimes its as easy as A-B-C.

A – Finding A Product
What are we going to provide? What is the product or service that you will provide? If you Don’t have a product in mind I will give you one. “Information” people will pay large amounts of money to learn something new. If you know something, and you’re always being asked “How do I….” then that’s the product you need to sale. If Not, then find the information that’s worth money.

Put together a pamphlet or a booklet, with detailed information. Find out how much the information is worth and how badly it is needed. Remember who your target buyers will be. You don’t want to charge $1,000 to Joe Schmoe working at a fast food restaurant. But on the other hand if you are targeting prominent business you don’t want to undersell yourself. Find Out who needs it and a reasonable price that your target will be able to afford.

B – How To Present It
Ok now we have a product. But, What is the best way to sale it? With the internet expanding daily, with billions of people logging on, it seems like the internet would be an easy place to start. Which is an excellent way to operate. But, doesn’t it cost a lot of money to get a website? NO! Some sites offer free web-pages and website building tool. These are sub-domains. Which will cost u nothing to set up. Just filling out the free membership information. Only cost you time.

Mail Order on the other hand is simple in its own right. Place an ad, Sale a product. Depending on where you advertise, depends on how much it will cost you.

Won’t it cost me an arm and a leg for supplies? Not necessarily. A booklet or pamphlet may cost less then $1.50 each. Shipping may cost you $1.25.

C – Advertising It Correctly and Making A Profit
Advertising cost can vary in a wide range of prices. From hundreds of dollars down to nothing. If its online there are plenty of websites that offer “hits” or “traffic”. These are words meaning visitors to your website. There are also articles, like this one, all over the internet on how to get free visitors to your website.

If you choose “Mail Order” as the way you wish to distribute your product. Then the best way to get orders or inquiries is by placing eye catching ads. Offer “Free Information” or “A Money Back Guarantee”. This should make your product an interesting little item.

As for making a profit. Be sure that the cost of the ads aren’t to overwhelming. The goal is to sale 2 or three booklets to make your money back for you. After that, its all profit, and all yours.
