Copywriting For Your Blog
Written by Author on August 7th, 2009Many today think copywritingLinks copy writing: is difficult and should be done
by professionals that charge a fortune. This is far from the
truth. If you have a blog and are trying to make money with
it then you must write articles to succeed. From now on I
want you to believe that YOU can write very good articles.
What Is Copywriting?
Copywriting for a blog or web site we tend to think of it
as a process whereby someone else writes your articles.
These articles are for content and have a certain word
count, a tone and your niche topics. Usually, people pay
to have a writer write their content for them.
Copywriting For Content and Traffic
The most amazing thing happens when people write their
articles as they forget that formatting is vital to an
article. Here are some useful tips for your copywriting:
1) Formatting Your Article
Do not write long drawn out paragraphs. Get straight to
the point and express it in understandable terms. Use
shorter paragraphs for those who like to scan articles
first.
2) Subheadings
Use more subheadings that quickly explain the content of
the paragraph. Those that scan the article can find the
information they are looking for quickly.
This point is lost by many writers and web site owners.
Subheadings may increase your traffic. When the search
engines have their bots scan your page it reads the
subheadings and if a person types in say “Formatting
Your Article” like above, the search engines are more
likely to send me the traffic than someone who buries
the information in one large paragraph.
3) Article Wording
When you write do not churn out your knowledge of your
favorite dictionary. We have all heard the person that
says long words or very rarely used words that make
you think “what are they talking about?” Do not have
your reader running to their dictionary as they will not
read the article.
4) Sentence Structure
Many times I have read a blog that has run on sentences.
Here is the rule of thumb for writing. If you put more
than twenty words in a sentence it is wrong. Usually, a
long sentence has two or three thoughts in it, and
therefore, becomes confusing. Cut down a sentence to
convey one thought that is understandable.
5) Cursing and Swearing
Never curse or swear in your article. Doing so convey’s
what I call “the lazy brain syndrome”. Never imply a
curse word or swearing by using symbols. Come across as
literate and professional at all times.
The Conclusion Of Copywriting For Your Blog
Copywriting Links writing copy:
is not as difficult as others want you to
believe. Follow the format as outlined above and you will
find out that it is easier than you first thought. If you
format your blog and articles correctly you will find the
results will come back to you. Keep your content at a high
level and you will come across as the professional in
your niche.
