The Long Commute
Written by Author on August 29th, 2009Yesterday was another average Monday for Sam Tlecani, owner and chief driver for Pyramids Limo Company, a Denver limo and Denver Airport limousine Company. While the unexpected is expected in the limousine business, usually, fares to the airport on Monday morning, are Denver residents flying to a distant city for business purposes. This Monday morning was no exception. Sam had already booked the pickup with a regular client, who needed to be at the airport by 10am.
The client lives in a small town in South Denver called Littleton. Now swallowed up in the expansive growth of Denver, Littleton is about 12 miles from the center of the city. She works in the International credit card department for the Denver Visa office, one of the largest Visa offices in the nation. San Francisco is home of the nation’s largest Visa, and Visa has another large office in New York. She usually returns on Wednesday, and Sam picks her up after she disembarks and gets her baggage. This client originally found Sam through the Yellow pages. But like many small businessmen, Sam has now switched to Internet advertising, as a less expensive yet more popular advertising media.
For a single passenger, Sam takes a Lincoln town car, and passengers are welcome to bring along their coffee and a danish or anything else to snack on, as they race to catch the monring flight. Sam sees to it that the town car is cleaned every other day. He has a contract with a local car wash, and the car gets a good cleaning inside and out.

The trip was uneventful, and as always Sam’s client made her flight on time. Sam waited around for his next fare. Today he was booked by another regular client who was flying in from South Carolina to attend a business meeting. The pick up was at 2pm and Sam drove the fare to the company’s main office in downtown Denver. This customer is also a regular client, and flies into Denver every two weeks for his business meetings. His firm is a national construction company and their headquarters are in Denver. The pickup was made on time, the ride was uneventful. And afterward Sam returned to his main office in Aurora, Co. The client will be using Pyramids in a day or two when he returns to South Carolina.
Sam readily acknowledges that the airport traffic has been good for his Denver limousine
