1 Sell things. This can often be a very good place to start. You generate an income with very little or no outlay. Perhaps you start my gathering together any unused or unwanted items you may have around the house. These can be sold on eBay or TripleClicks. Simply gather together anything that you have that may be of interest to others, estimate the value of each item (be realistic). think about the cost of packing and shipping and then place them for sale, either by auction or a fixed price.
2 Affiliate marketing. Now if you don’t have any items of your own to sell, maybe you could sell other peoples products. There are many companies out there who are quite willing to have you do some marketing for them and they will pay you quite a nice commission for the privilege. You might find a local company and have your own contract with them or you can find hundreds of companies on the internet and sign up with them. Many people make thousands of Dollars/Pounds/Yen per month doing just that and they don’t have to get involved with any of the details of, taking orders, packing and shipping, returns and refunds etc. It is not difficult to set up and do this kind of business especially as the company you affiliate with will provide you with all sorts of useful marketing stuff.
3 Multi Level Marketing. Now this is one area that has gotten quite a bad reputation over the years. Perhaps due some of the folk that have been operating in this model in the past. Companies like Amway, Avon and Nutrimetics come to mind and there are many others, Now I am no expert on these companies but what I have seen of them is that there is nothing wrong with the Multi Level Marketing method as such. much of the problem stems from the way it is implemented by some individuals and groups.
Multi level marketing is, from what I’ve seen, one of the best home based business models around, if you understand the basic principles of this model. The object of the exercise is to sell product. Just like in most other businesses. If you are a coffee shop owner, you do the same. You sell coffee (and cookies
. Now if you are the business owner you may be doing just that when you are small, but as you grow you hire someone else to take the orders. It’s as simple as that. But the reason MLM is the best system around is that you can start at the bottom, with very little or no outlay or risk AND you have people above you who will help you to succeed. They will give you training and support because, if you do well they make money too. Then as you introduce people into your business those same people will help you manage your business until you learn the ropes. All of this for very little investment in your time and money, and almost no risk.
4 Sell your expertise. Most people have some knowledge in one area or another. It may be from their working life, or their hobby, or just life in general. The thing is, you probably have experience and knowledge that others are looking for. You may not think of yourself as an expert or guru but, if you know the real meaning of the word guru you will understand that you only have to know more than someone else for them to look to you for help and advice. This could be the start of your business. People would pay you if they see you as the person who can help them. It’s not hard to set yourself up to become that expert or guru. Just start with a desire to help others, in an area in which you are interested and could easily become passionate about . Of course you may already be an expert, and/or passionate about something, in which case, you are already half way there.
5 Market your off-line business. If you are already in a traditional business you could vastly increase your exposure and your profits with an online presence as well. People are moving more and more to the internet for everything. Many people now go to their favourite search tool to search for a restaurant or business, to find a new camera or car. It’s much easier to do your research online than going from shop to shop, or to find things in the Yellow Pages. This is going to get more and more prevalent in the future. Children these days are growing up with this stuff. They think it is natural to jump on line to get the train time table and book the tickets. They could not comprehend any other way. If your business is not easily found on the internet, you could be left behind. And don’t leave it to someone else to do this for you, unless you have a very large marketing budget. You need to understand what is involved and how effective your internet presence is.
