Written by Author on September 17th, 2009

If you are serious about affiliate marketing and want some real world strategies that will help you increase your conversion rates considerably and sell more products with less effort, then you will want to pay close attention to what I’m about to share with you.

It’s not enough anymore to just sign up for an affiliate program and slap a banner here and there hoping to make sales. affiliate marketing has become a serious business that only a handful of smart marketers ever make money from. People are tired of direct marketing and in-your-face ads bombarding their inboxes daily. In order to turn a sizable profit with affiliate marketing you must learn the art of pre-selling your visitors.

Pre-selling will drastically increase your conversion rates. It is also an effective method of adding content to your blog or website. While you are pre-selling your visitors you are creating content that will become indexed by all the major search engines, thus driving more free traffic back to you with less effort.

When you pre-sell your affiliate products through your blogs, you are offering others the opportunity to interact with you and other members of your community. They can ask questions and offer their valuable feedback of their experiences with the products you are promoting. But how do you pre-sell your affiliate products and increaes your conversion rates considerably?

Send Traffic To YOUR Site First- Not The Merchant’s

While you will eventually send your traffic on through to the merchant’s website, you ultimately want them to come to you first. This way you have the opportunity to sign them onto your list so you can promote future products and collect future sales as well. Give them a mini course related to the product you are trying to promote. After they have joined your list, then feel free to send them onto your affiliate merchant’s site.

If you are promoting a 2 tier affiliate program with a residual monthly income, you will also have the opportunity to bring them aboard as affiliates and have them promoting for you so you can create further sales from their efforts. You can create a small report for them to help these new affiliates to promote the product more effectively by allowing them to include their affiliate links within it.

Publish A Product Review

Results speak louder than any glowing sales page. It is much more effective to test a product first before you begin promoting it and then offer an honest review of the product. Give your audience a few of the key benefits of the product, tell them who it’s best suited for, and then tell them your personal story. Tell them why you purchased the product and how it helped you.

People buy results, not products so go ahead and tell them what your personal results were. Do not imbellish the results. It is by far more effective if you can include a short video “showing” them first hand what you did or how you accomplished the results. Let them see the results for themselves.

If you haven’t bought the product personally but still wish to promote it, do your homework first. Look around to find feedback from others who have used it. Ask them about their experiences and gather first hand testimonials. When using these “testimonials” be sure to quote the source. If the product received raving reviews from critics, use the quote and the source in your review.

Offer Incentives

Before you do this, make sure that the merchant you are going to promote for allows its affiliates to offer extra incentives to sell their products. If they do, you could create a small report outlining your results and how your audience can easily achieve the same results. Create an audio of you interviewing the expert or merchant. Create a video of you using their product and show real proof of the results. Offer extra coaching or training for those who may need it when using the product.

The key is to sweeten the deal even further by giving them something that they can only get once they order through you. People love exclusive offers that they can’t find on a dozen other websites. It makes them feel appreciated and special.

Don’t Send Out ‘Stale’ Advertising

We’ve all seen it before. A new product is launched and everyone begins sending out the exact same promotional emails to capture your interest. After you have opened your email and found the same twenty headlines and same email bodies you become annoyed and hit ‘delete’.

Stand out from the crowd. Create your own killer headlines and advertising. Take the time to do it right the first time. Be the fresh face that everyone is looking for. As long as you refrain from following the crowd when sending out affiliate promotions, even if your customer has seen dozens of other ads for the same product, they are more likely to take a real look at yours and click through to your website to find out more.

Affiliate marketing is an art. Whether you are selling your own products or someone else’s, your goal should always be to strengthen the relationships with your subscribers. Build on the foundation of trust and build a strong, responsive list. Only then will you sell more affiliate products and increase your conversion rates considerably!
