When You Go For Outsourcing, Don’t Be Cheap

Don’t always look mechanically at the smallest price either. Someone who is being paid the bare minimum for their work will be looking for other projects to help their earnings. You could finish up with a product that is not as high quality as you need, simply because the person had to spread themselves so thinly among many clients. If your projects are worth doing this is your company’s image, after all they are worth doing well, and will be worth what you pay for them. Scrimp on this, and it is not the freelancer’s fault if the product has quality issues.

However, you may find excellent new writers who will charge somewhat less than their more revealed and established counterparts, yet produce attractive work for you. So don’t automatically discard the applications of less experienced writers. Ask for some samples of their writing, and judge them by that. Or have them do a single smaller project, so you can see the standard of their work.

Once you’ve had many self employed staff do a good job for you, you can ask them to handle more projects as they arise, or to engage in continuing work like writing the company blog. Over time, you’ll continuously build a gang of self employed staff that you return to again. They’re going to continue to have other clients too, naturally, but if you find writers who consistently do good work for you, they’ll come to understand your company well, and this may only be an advantage. Even with outsourcing and freelancing, a continual relationship of trust and competence can be built.
