Finding Good Free Software.
Written by Business Maker on May 6th, 2010There is tons of software out there, and it is really hard to choose which one might be the right one for you. A lot of times thought, the one that is right for you can be too complicated to try and use, and that happens to everybody. If you look at some of the price tags on the major names like Adobe, Autodesk, Microsoft, etc. you will see that there has to be something better than that.
Be warned, Pirates are everywhere, don’t get sucked into this. This is illegan and immoral NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY! In this post I will try to get you to find a good software copy for some of those huge names, probably with some open source software. There are tons of software copies out there and finding the right one usually isn’t hard.
I recommend checking out software copy for some more resources.
I will start off with replacing the Microsoft Windows operating system. A good replacement for Windows is Linux. Linux is incredibly useful, and has awesome software copies for you to use. The best part about Linux is it is almost always free. There are some pay distros out there but they aren’t really what you would be looking for anyways. If you are really thinking about using Linux there is a couple of steps to ensure that you really discover it correctly. First, you should find a good distrobution that fits your needs. For beginners i recommend Ubuntu, Mandrake, or openSUSE. Those are 3 very new-user friendly operating systems out there.. I also suggest that you read up on the way that Linux works. if you go to http://codedred.com/2010/05/learning-linux/ there is a somewhat lengthy post on the workings of Linux.
Next, lets replace some of that precious Adobe software. I am only going to mention the replacement for Photoshop here because it is by far the most popular. The best replacement for Photoshop that I have found is the GNU Image Manipulation Program, or gimp. Gimp works on almost all of the major operating systems and is free to download.
The famous Autodesk 3ds Max. This program can be rivaled by the python coded Blender 3d. Blender is also free to download and there are tons of recources online for using it. It is incredibly easy to use and is a great software copy.
The point of this article is this, if you do enough searching and really open your mind into the open source world chances are you will find something that you are looking for. If nothing else, you will find a software copy that will work for now. The entire process can be done through Google and is really pretty easy. If you search for things like “open source photoshop” you would probably be pointed to gimp eventually. (Don’t quote me, i didn’t try this) So good luck to you, I hope that I helped.
